Bavarian Academic Center for Latin America (BAYLAT): Activities and funding opportunities

The Bavarian Academic Center for Latin America (BAYLAT) is a service institution of the Bavarian Ministry of Science and the Arts (StMWK). BAYLAT creates networks between Bavarian and Latin American universities and research institutions. The objectives are linked to the internationalization strategies of the Bavarian universities. BAYLAT plans and realizes its activities within the scope of science, cooperation and higher education diplomacy.
BAYLAT has different focus areas (selection):

 

  • to coordinate official delegations
  • to promote innovative binational projects and exchange in research and academia with start-up funding and scholarships
  • to create networks
  • to establish strategic partnerships
  • to provide expert advice
  • to organize working meetings, events and conferences.

Latin America is an emerging research region, which is constantly gaining in importance for Bavaria as a cooperation partner. The aim of BAYLAT is to expand the long tradition of cooperation between Latin America and Bavaria for the mutual benefit of both partners.
